ABOUT MOLLY
Born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, I come from deep southern roots. An appreciation for sweet tea, SEC football (War Eagle!), and the liberal use of “y’all” come standard.

I received my bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Auburn University in May 2012. During my time on The Plains, I worked as a staff writer for The Auburn Plainsman, our campus newspaper. In addition to my writing classes, I was enthralled by my photography and print/digital page design coursework, some of which is featured on this site.

Shortly after graduation, I married my husband, Ben, and we settled in Dallas, Texas. In the Lone Star State, I began working for Southwest Airlines as a technical writer. I dove into writing, editing, and publishing procedures manuals and company documents. I love the nuts and bolts of technical writing, and I can’t say enough about Southwest and the Central Publications department. They truly opened my eyes to another realm of writing!

Off the clock, I stretched my creative writing and journalism muscles with freelancing. My writing was featured in The Dallas Morning News, People Newspapers, and throughout the marketing content for Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty.

When my husband redirected his career path in 2014 and began work as an air traffic controller for the FAA, we moved to Champaign, Illinois where I continued work for Southwest as an Aircraft Librarian at Chicago’s Midway International Airport where my daily tasks included inventory of publications, auditing aircraft for correct publication revision dates and quantities, correcting any errors, as well as documenting each audit in a custom database program. As the first (i.e., guinea pig) Aircraft Librarian, I navigated uncharted waters and created the structure of the multi-librarian, nationwide team in place today.

Today, Ben and I live in Louisville, Kentucky. We're among dear friends and family and loving the fantastic food scene and artistic culture Louisville offers. I found my creative home at CBS Interactive as an Associate Editor at CNET.com, a top website for technology and culture news, reviews and buying advice in this ever-changing, increasingly connected world. We write about smart home technology, how connected devices can be used for good and offer a tips and tricks along the way.

When I'm not at the keyboard, we enjoy traveling, spending time with our families, and exploring the great outdoors with our dog Bailey.
